BALLADE AUX SOURCES chronicles the journey of an African émigré living in Paris through several North African countries shortly after they gain independence. Off-screen reflections on identity and belonging are interwoven with observations of passing people and landscapes. The restoration of this work is a prime example of collaboration amongst the film archive community.
